Summer in Arizona

There is nothing more that I want then to spend the summer in Tuscon for a few weeks.  While I will miss my kids I can't wait if all goes well.

On that note Sara did her blood tests and she is compatible to be a donor.  We have more tests next week and at any point she could be denied but she passed the first step.  I am SOOOO Excited today!!!!

Found the hotel I want to stay at and I am already learning the area.  I will keep you updated- hopefully we will know if she passes the next round of tests by the end of next week.  UMC Tuscon said that they will make sure it goes pretty fast so I am ready to fast track this surgery.

I hope I can get a visitor or two to come and see me so I am not bored out of mind!!  I would love for my kids to come down but they are walking germs so I think it is best to have them go on vacation with Deacon while I am gone and I will see them when I get back.  Thank Goodness for skype so I can still see their faces everyday for a month.

My Hero....

I hope Sara doesn't read this or she might get a big head....HA HA.   Ok seriously I just have to say that no matter what happens, even if they say my sister isn't a match or she can't donate I already feel like she is my hero for giving me hope.  Hope has made me push through and stay positive, feel better and have something to look forward to.

For anyone who decides to even test to be a donor it is such a selfless choice.  I am so proud of her for stepping up and offering her body for me yet again- when I was having a hard time getting pregnant she offered to carry a baby for me- although I was lucky enough to carry both of my children.  Anytime I need her she is there for me.

We never hang out that much even though we live in the same city- unless I am having a margarita laying in her pool I don't get to see her often.  However, the past few weeks we are spending more time together so whatever happens I am just so thankful for the fact that I have Sara in my life more.   Now I just have to talk her into not ever wanting to transfer back to the twin cities for work!!  Sara- you can have the house in Malibu if you stay :)

Here are a few photo's of our outings.  PS- I was not drinking in the photo's it was in a nightclub and the flash kept making my eyes squint so the last one I tried to open them really big!!

Thanks Collette for always having a camera!

The Packet Arrived!!!

WOO HOO Sara's package arrived with the lab request in it so she can go give blood tomorrow :)  I hope it does not take too long to find out if she is going to be my donor.  I am chomping at the bit to get this surgery done and be back to resuming my life after a few weeks.  I just don't want to wait any longer.

I have been feeling really good lately.  I haven't said anything but UMC Tuscon told me to stop my medication as it could throw me into dialysis.  I was scared that I would end up sick and shaking again like before but so far 1.5 weeks without it and I am still going strong.

I had such a wonderful weekend I really didn't want it to end!  I am so excited to see what the future holds, only good times from here on out.  After my great weekend I got to spend Sunday hanging out with the family, which was a perfect ending.

Still Waiting

Sara finally heard from UMC Tuscon and they are mailing her a packet with her lab request in it to be tested.  So once again we sit and wait.  Another week of work...another weekend of fun!  I really hope I can get the surgery before summer so I can still take vacation and live at the beach.

On a side note..The girls wanted Nerf guns at target...they have never asked for anything like this so I thought OK why not.  Now I know what my girlfriends with son's go through.  Getting hit in the butt with a nerf bullet, flying bullets everywhere and screaming....OH What happened to my quiet house??

Tuscon here we come...hopefully

Well we finally met with Tuscon Doctors today and what a difference!!   There is so much to tell but I don't have much time as I have to go to a work meeting.

1.)  They interviewed Sara about being a donor and just did a quick health screen.  She is going to give blood and test this week.  If she has any kidney problems she will be ruled out so cross your fingers she is 100% healthy.

2.)  We will schedule a date if she is a match in the next few months and fly to Tuscon, have the surgery.  They said I should only have to be down there 10-14 days if I bounce back because of my age and health.  Then I will do my every 2 day check up for 2 months here in Las Vegas.

3.)  The surgery is laproscopic so the recovery time is very short-which is great.  They said the Marriott has all the shops and dining within walking distance.  SO After my surgery I get to go out in town a bit, I can't wait.

4.)  Most of the team is from Minnesota- which of course I love!!!

OK so just waiting to hear if Sara is healthy and we can move forward.  Probably know in the next few days.
